Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement highlighting the negative implications the GOP replacement plan would have on Nevadans access to affordable healthcare:

“There’s no doubt that the Affordable Care Act has its flaws, but the last thing we should be doing is replacing the ACA with a plan that raises costs on hard-working Nevada families in addition to providing less coverage and fewer protections. Since the enactment of the ACA, Nevada’s uninsured rate has been reduced by half, including in my own district,” said Congresswoman Jacky Rosen.

“I am especially worried about the adverse effect the repeal would have on Nevada hospitals, which risk reducing their services and even closing their doors on Nevada patients as a result of the GOP’s harmful repeal. This effect would have further implications on Nevada’s economy, by eliminating countless jobs created as a result of expanded health services. Not to mention, the repeal is detrimental for our state’s healthcare sector, which is one of the top economic drivers for Nevada’s economy.”

“Our own Republican Governor has said that he will only support a proposal that ensures Nevadans covered under the Medicaid expansion keep their healthcare. This bill does not guarantee that the 30,900 constituents in the my District would continue to have access to the vital healthcare services they need.”
