ROSEN VOTES TO FUND THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, INCREASE MILITARY PAY
WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement after voting for H.R. 1301, the FY 2017 Department of Defense Appropriations:
“Strengthening our military is among one of my top priorities and I am pleased to see that this legislation supports our Armed Forces by helping pay our troops, provide care for military families and the resources needed to combat terrorism, deter our adversaries, and support our allies,” said Congresswoman Jacky Rosen.
“The legislation makes important forward-thinking investments to increase our military readiness, including modernizing our Armed Forces by fulfilling unmet requirements for weapons and aircraft such as F-35 Joint Strike Fighters at Nellis Air Force Base and unmanned aerial vehicles flying Counter-ISIL Operation missions from Creech Air Force Base.”
“Most importantly, the Defense Appropriations bill includes a 2.1% pay raise for our service men and women, which will help our military families who are currently struggling in Nevada to make ends meet.”
