FBI Director Comey Confirms Investigation into Trump Campaign, Rosen Calls for Special Prosecutor

March 20, 2017
Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement after FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the House Intelligence Committee:

“Today, the American people learned two major developments from FBI Director Comey’s testimony before the House Intelligence Committee,” said Congresswoman Jacky Rosen. “First, the FBI Director confirmed for the American people that the Trump campaign is in fact under criminal investigation for possible collusion with the Russians. Second, Director Comey said there was “no evidence” for President Trump’s “wire-tapping” claims.

“The American people have waited for months for answers regarding Russian interference in our election. Today’s testimony by FBI Director Comey confirms the need for a special prosecutor to fully investigate meddling by a foreign adversary in our election. The integrity of our democratic institution is on the line, and we cannot rest until a full investigation is completed immediately.”
