REP. JACKY ROSEN HONORS THE MEMORY OF FIRST SERGEANT CHARLESTON HARTFIELD
LAS VEGAS, NV - Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement to honor the memory of her constituent, First Sergeant Charleston Hartfield, who was killed while off-duty at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017. The 34-year-old was a Las Vegas Metro Police Department officer and a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Nevada National Guard who lived in Henderson.
"Our community lost a true-blue American hero on Sunday night. Since the age of 18, Officer Charleston Hartfield valiantly served our country and our community, putting his life on the line in our military and in local law enforcement to keep all of us safe. Those who knew Officer Hartfield remember him for his kindness to others and for pouring his heart into this community - as a husband and father, a friend, and a youth football coach. Officer Hartfield was taken from us far too soon by a senseless tragedy, and our valley will mourn this loss tonight and carry forward his spirit of courage and selflessness."
Tonight at 6:00 p.m., the Las Vegas Police Protective Association and the Injured Police Officers Fund will host a candlelight vigil for Officer Hartfield at Police Memorial Park. Read more about Officer Charleston Hartfield's life here.
