REP. ROSEN TO TESTIFY AGAINST YUCCA MOUNTAIN BEFORE SUBCOMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENT, COMMITTEE ON ENERGY AND COMMERCE
WASHINGTON, DC – This Wednesday, April 26, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) will testify before the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Environment, Committee on Energy and Commerce on efforts to resurrect the licensing process at Yucca Mountain. Rep. Rosen received a letter today from committee staff confirming her scheduled testimony:
“I am thankful that the committee has provided me the opportunity to testify against renewed efforts to resurrect Yucca Mountain. Instead of wasting millions in hard-earned taxpayer dollars on a project that poses a serious threat to Nevadans’ health and safety, I implore the Chairman of this committee to find a repository elsewhere – one that is actually scientifically safe and sound for disposal. For over 30 years, Nevadans have fought against becoming the nation’s dumping ground for nuclear waste. I fully intend to make Nevadans’ opposition against Yucca Mountain crystal clear during this week’s hearing. ”
