ROSEN ADDRESSES AFGE NATIONAL CONVENTION IN LAS VEGAS, COMMITS TO DEFENDING LABOR RIGHTS FOR FEDERAL WORKERS

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Yesterday, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) addressed the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) at their national convention in Las Vegas.

“Our federal workers in Nevada and across the country are public servants who often go unthanked for their hard work,” said Rosen. “Without their unwavering commitment, our government would not function and the federal services that millions of Americans rely on, from Social Security and Medicare to resources for veterans and military families, would fail. I will continue to fight along with AFGE to push back against the Trump Administration’s attacks on our federal workers and organized labor.”

BACKGROUND: Last month, Rosen sent a letter with House colleagues to President Donald Trump condemning his three Executive Orders issued on May 25 that would undermine collective bargaining, union representation, and whistleblower protections for federal workers.

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Ayer, la Congresista Jacky Rosen (NV-03) se dirige a la Federación de Empleados del Gobierno (AFGE, por sus siglas en inglés) en su convención nacional en Las Vegas

“Nuestros empleados federales en Nevada y a través del país son servidores públicos que muy seguido trabajan sin reconocimiento de su buen trabajo,” dijo Rosen. “Sin su compromiso inquebrantable nuestro gobierno no funcionaria y los servicios federales de cuales millones de estadounidenses dependen, como el seguro social, Medicare, y servicios para los veteranos y familias militares, fallarían. Yo seguiré luchando al lado de AFGE en contra de los ataques a nuestros empleados federales y el sindicato de parte de la Administración de Trump.”

ANTECEDENTES: El mes pasado Rosen le mandó una carta a Presidente Donald Trump junto con colegas de la Cámara de los Representantes condenándolo por sus tres Órdenes Ejecutivas que emitió el 25 de mayo que causarían socavaría de la negociación colectiva, representación sindical, y protecciones a empleados federales que reportan delitos.
