ROSEN APPLAUDS USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM HOSPITAL LOAN GUARANTEE FOR BOULDER CITY
BOULDER CITY, NV -- Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement applauding the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for awarding a loan guarantee of more than $4 million for the renovation of a Boulder City Hospital medical office building, which will allow space for a new Rural Health Clinic. The funds will also be used to upgrade hospital equipment and refinance existing debt.
“Too many of Nevada’s rural communities lack the medical infrastructure our residents need, and this USDA loan guarantee will help address these issues in Boulder City,” said Rosen. “Access to quality, affordable health care requires modern facilities that can house critical medical technology and equipment, and I will continue to fight for funding that improves Nevada’s health care system and infrastructure.”
BACKGROUND: The Rural Health Clinic will improve access to primary care in a Medically Underserved Area. Boulder City Hospital will be brought up to current standards and will provide current technology and equipment. The primary care for the community of Boulder City is in jeopardy due to limited physicians. Rural Health Clinics are required to use a team approach of physicians and practitioners, which incorporate nurse practitioners or physicians assistants to provide services. This project is expected to create 15 construction jobs and 3.5 secondary jobs.
