WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement commemorating African American History Month, which takes places in February:

“It would be impossible to describe the American experience without honoring the countless achievements and immense struggles of the African American community,” said Rosen. “African American History Month reminds us of the monumental strides this community has made, in Nevada and across the country, towards overcoming discrimination and furthering the cause of civil rights and racial equality. Throughout the month of February, I hope Nevadans will take time to consider and reflect on the remarkable accomplishments of African American leaders who have helped grow Nevada’s economy, contributed to our diverse communities, and strengthened our political system in countless ways.”
