ROSEN HELPS INTRODUCE RESOLUTION TO RESTORE NET NEUTRALITY
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement after signing on as an original co-sponsor of Rep. Mike Doyle’s (D-PA) resolution to the Congressional Review Act, which would allow Congress to overturn the FCC’s decision to repeal net neutrality rules:
“This administration’s reckless decision to repeal net neutrality gives internet service providers the ability to stack the deck against Nevada’s hardworking families and small businesses who could be forced to pay more to connect to an internet with slower speeds,” said Rosen. “This resolution would reverse the FCC’s misguided ruling, which places large corporate profits ahead of people, and restore access to a free and open internet for Nevadans. I’m proud to join my colleagues in supporting Rep. Doyle’s resolution and will continue to fight for net neutrality. ”
BACKGROUND: If passed, Rep. Mike Doyle (D-PA) and Senator Ed Markey (D-MA)’s Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolutions in the House and Senate would stop the FCC’s rollback of net neutrality. Congresswoman Rosen penned an op-ed in The Nevada Independent, detailing her opposition to the FCC’s misguided decision to repeal net neutrality.
