ROSEN SENDS BIPARTISAN LETTER TO PROHIBIT MEMBERS OF CONGRESS FROM USING TAXPAYER DOLLARS FOR FIRST-CLASS FLIGHTS
WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV- 3) released the following statement after sending a bipartisan letter to lead appropriators in the House to prohibit the use of taxpayer money for first-class flights for Members of Congress:
“Hard-earned taxpayer dollars should never go towards first-class flights for Members of Congress,” said Congresswoman Jacky Rosen.
“I am proud to work across the aisle whenever I see commonsense solutions that help save taxpayer money. My job is to be a public servant and a citizen-Representative. Taxpayer money should only be spent on things of value to the American people, and I will continue to work every day to ensure that we root out waste in government. We have to make tough choices about spending, to address the federal deficit and our national debt, while ensuring that funding for critical needs, such as health and safety, and the security of our nation, is spent wisely and not frivolously. There is much more work to do, but this is a good bipartisan step forward.”
