Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) issued the following statement after voting to advance a one-week stopgap Continuing Resolution that would fund the government until midnight on May 5th.  The vote was necessary to give the House of Representatives time to negotiate and draft an omnibus spending bill for FY2017:

“One of the most basic responsibilities of Congress is to keep our government funded, which is why I supported today’s one-week continuing resolution. That said, we must stop kicking the can down the road by passing temporary funding measures. Short-term continuing resolutions prevent our armed forces from being able to strategically plan for the future, and inject unnecessary uncertainty into our economy. We must come together to work on a bipartisan long-term funding bill that puts our federal government on a path towards fiscal sustainability, and we have to do it now.”
