Rosen Statement on H.Res. 11
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Jacky Rosen co-sponsored her first piece of legislation today, H.Res. 11, objecting to UNSCR 2334 as an obstacle to Israeli-Palestinian peace. She issued the following statement about the resolution:
“I was proud to co-sponsor the resolution today, speak in favor of it from the floor, and to vote in favor. I was disappointed by the abstention of the United States in the United Nations Security Council on Resolution 2334, because I strongly believe that the U.S.-Israel alliance is critical in so many ways. Now is not the time to sow uncertainty about our relationship with Israel.
This bi-partisan resolution reaffirms the United States’ longstanding policy of supporting a direct, bi-lateral settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and objects to the recent UN resolution. It was important to take this action today, and to reaffirm to Israel, and the world, our commitment to peace and the security of the State of Israel.”
