ROSEN STATEMENT ON IMMIGRANT HERITAGE MONTH
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement to commemorate the beginning of Immigrant Heritage Month, which began on June 1:
“I have always believed that one of our greatest strengths as a nation is our status as a melting pot. Generations of immigrants have made invaluable contributions that we see on a daily basis across all walks of American life, reinforcing the idea that being American isn’t about where you come from, but rather what you contribute to the rich and diverse country we all call home. During Immigrant Heritage Month, we celebrate the many immigrant families, their cultures, and how they’ve shaped our communities over time.
That’s why we must continue to uphold our values by embracing those who wish to join us in building our country’s future. For that exact reason, I call on this Administration to shift its misguided rhetoric and policies from those of exclusion and division to a platform that recognizes and respects our hard-working immigrant communities. They are at the heart of what makes our country great.”
