Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

“Our nation pauses to honor the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and the legacy of all who fought for justice during the Civil Rights Movement. We must continue in Dr. King’s footsteps by carrying on the struggle to combat racial discrimination, economic inequality, and the continued lack of fairness in our society. Our progress is undeniable, but so much still needs to be done to achieve his dream of a nation where our children are judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. The example of Martin Luther King Jr. should be a reminder for everyone in public office to stand up against divisive rhetoric, speak out for civil rights and voting rights, and work to build real economic opportunity for every community.”
